Confidence - Self Defence - Fitness

What is Zen Karate?

The martial art taught in our studio was founded in Canada in the early 1950’s. It is a combination of traditional and modern Karate, Tae Kwon-Do and Kickboxing. These martial arts, combined with physical training, promote confidence, coordination and self-control. Zen Karate features both tournament oriented training as well as realistic street defense techniques.

Zen Karate-Do promotes peace. Students are trained to avoid conflict if possible and use their skills only when all other measures have been exhausted.

Philosophy

The philosophy of Zen Karate-Do can be summed up by the following tenets:
  • Self Control
  • Perseverance
  • Integrity
  • Respect
  • Indomitable Spirit
  • Truth
